The California Reined Cow Horse Association (CRCHA) is an affiliate member of the National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) and is incorporated under California Corporate Law as a non-profit mutual benefit corporation. The CRCHA bylaws stipulate that a board composed of nine directors, four of which are executive officers, shall be elected annually by a secret ballot vote of the voting members in good standing. Directors must be members in good standing of the CRCHA and NRCHA. Directors serve two-year terms, and their terms are staggered so that about one-half of the director positions are up for election annually. As stipulated by the CRCHA bylaws, directors are responsible to “conduct, manage, and control the affairs and business of the association”. The directors lead committees responsible for show planning, show operations, awards, banquet, sponsorship, communications, and other administrative functions. The members depend on the directors to plan and conduct events for the benefit of the members and to manage the association’s finances responsibly while acting at all times in accordance with CRCHA bylaws, NRCHA bylaws, and applicable California corporate law.
The elections for the 2021-2022 term will be held at show #8 at the International Agri-Center on August 15th and 16th. Directors continuing on their term in 2021-2022 include Jake Brooks, Chris Krieg, Tina Robinson and Kristin Tesiny. The 4 positions currently held by Stacy Duesterhaus, Kristy Johnson, Tim Johnson and Murray Thompson and 1 position currently vacant are up for reelection.
